Caroline Freeland Park

7200 Arlington Road between Hampden La and Elm St, Bethesda, MD. On the block between Bethesda Library and Giant food. (map)

A small neighborhood park with a playground, lots of benches and picnic tables under the trees.

It seems like this park serves two purposes. There is a small play area for neighborhood kids, then there is a shady section with lots of benches and picnic tables, perfect for people who work in the area and want to eat outside. For such a small park, there is a large variety of trees, almost every one is a different species.

The park was named for the first female chairman of the Maryland-National Capital Park and planning Commision, which she led from 1963 to 1971.
